Creativity In God
After finding God, creative works and creativity itself took on another dimension for me. God is Creator and He created our souls to create IN Him and to be in the Joy and flow of His Creation (THE Kingdom of God). Furthermore, as we experience being under His spiritual annointing, we discover it's very different to the state of Flow.
I've found the Holy Spirit annoints us to easily flow in God's wisdom. Since the supernatural Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Lord had shared revelations which often astound me. Sometimes, these revelations are about the nature of existence; other times about something specific, such as how to do something. Any revelation always bring Glory to God and Jesus Christ in some way. If we don't know the voice of God, it is easy to follow the voice of different spirits that don't always work for our long term benefit or for God. We see many instances in the Bible of humans or spiritual entities taking advantage of God-given talents or gifts. There are many sell-outs and losers in the Bible but some find God.
When I repented (turned away) from using creativity or creative works to meet the needs of my soul, I removed many self-imposed barriers that stopped me from receiving more of God. I no longer felt any hunger for spiritual empty creations and became more sensitive to the spiritual energy behind creations our soul drinks up. After knowing the Living Water Jesus speaks of, the other "waters" didn't compare.
"Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw." John 4:13-15
"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)" John 7: 37-39
As we know the one who made our being and turn away (repent) from drinking of the well water of the world, i.e. idolatry of the world, our thirst for what is spiritually dead just disappears!
Created in His Image
As we walk IN God, we also start to discover who we really are. When God breathed into Adam, Adam became a living soul who was given the power to "name" the animals God brought to him. Naming something is an act of creative manifestation. It is a power that defines the unseen reality behind something we see and almost sets it in stone in our mind and heart.
If we name something, or identify with something in a way that is not in God's Truth, it causes all kinds of complications. Things get broken when a lie or something harmful to our spirit enters. The only result of this is increasing confusion in all aspects of life, even about what what we see as "true" or what is "good". How we name or see something affects our future perception of it. It even causes us to ignore things we might ordinarily notice.
Prior to knowing God, I identified with countless things that were just not true and came from false programming. Who I thought I was (my identity) wasn't in the truth of God but was affected by other creations, such as emotions, thoughts or material and spiritual entities.
When God quickens our spirit (i.e. He breathes Life into our spirit) and we receive the supernatural baptism of the Holy Spirit, our soul finally knows and starts to grow in its true identity. We see the design behind what God desired for us in Eternity, which is nothing to do with the existence we see of a body in space/time.
The Holy Spirit also shows us how our life is misaligned from what God wants to create in our life. We discover our vision for our life is actually very limited and tiny compared to what God wants for us! As the old nature/identity sloughs off, we actually experience the process of our spirit (one with the Holy Spirit) differentiating itself from our nature (in the soul).
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Romans 8:26
"For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even as far as the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrows, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
The Bible also describes how all of creation waits for a people whom God manifests.
"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." Romans 8:19
The sons of God are shown something about reality that others actively keep away from because they turn away from God. When we look at Jesus Christ, THE Son of God and the first-born of the sons, we see how entire creation responded to him. A storm completely calmed on his command; a fig tree died; people were raised to life. Because he was The Word (the template of creation), reality sprang from him. Like him, the sons of God also have the same power.
Supernatural Power of Creation
The fallen spiritual realm and humans have developed many counterfeits of God and the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. Technology is one counterfeit of abilities God gives us in His Kingdom. For example, humans have created images of light and screens that display them on -- the techological equivalent of being given a vision by God or having spiritual sight through the Holy Spirit in our spirit. Our spirit, which sometimes even has memories of existence before this life, innately knows what life IN God is and deeply desires it but the carnal/natural person wants that life separate from the knowledge of God.
The new-age, occult and esoteric fields also presents counterfeits however this time, these are spiritual in nature rather than technological. These counterfeit experiences and powers are mediated by fallen spiritual entities. E.g. visions given by entities or psychic/magical powers of mind control by magicians and spiritual masters.
We don't need to know God to "manifest" things into our life (e.g. like the Law of Attraction) but all such creations are separate from the will of God. What use is manifesting anything only for it to be temporary or harmful to our spirit ultimately? Neither the creation or creator of such works will exist in Eternity.
The sons of God permanently reside in the Kingdom of God (in Jesus Christ) and from a place where death and time do not exist. I believe this is the ultimate destination of our creativity which all started with God creating our soul.
I'm discovering new things daily in God who uses everything (including any talents) for His Glory ultimately. For those who love God, even our "mistakes" are used. God works perfectly even if we see imperfection.
If we have Jesus Christ and the power of resurrection within us, we automatically reflect His Kingdom into the world so that those who are lost find Eternity in God too :)
